Congratulations to Yalun Zhou UMKC Friends of the Library Scholarship IPhD Student, Instructional Leadership & English Excerpt from Yalun's essay: "When I read this topic, an emotional sentiment swept over me. It provoked me to recall my years at UMKC and how I grew from a novice to an expert in making the full use of libraries. UMKC’s libraries, especially the Miller Nichols Library, will always be my intellectual and spiritual home." |

| Yalun will receive $500 from the Friends to be applied to her Fall 2009 tuition. Her essay was selected from among 49 applicants responding to the phrase "What UMKC's libraries mean to me..." Thank you to all those who entered. We hope that you will apply again next year. Your stories were wonderful and the decision was very difficult. Congratulations Yalun!
