*Miller Nichols Library Community Checkout Privilege Details

Individual Membership 1 name per account
Family Membership up to 3 names per account
Patron Membership up to 3 accounts (9 names) per household

  • The primary account holder must be at least 18 years old.
  • Four-week checkout period with two renewals possible
  • Up to 5 items from the circulation collection collections (excluding audio/visual materials) may be checked out on one account.
  • Photo ID is required for each checkout.
  • The account holder is financially responsible for any lost or overdue material checked out to their Community Checkout account(s).
  • Interlibrary Loan services are not available through UMKC but are available at your public library.
