Annual Gift
|
Since 1966, UMKC Friends of the Libraries have presented the Libraries and the UMKC community with an Annual Gift for the purchase of new library resources. For the 44th Annual Gift, presented on April 15, 2009 at the Boulevard Brewing Company, the Friends donated $37,000 for books, videos, recordings, periodical backfiles, music scores, and the UMKC Friends of the Library Scholarship Endowment Fund. The Annual Gift is made possible through membership dues and booksale proceeds. Proposals are now being accepted for 2010 requests. Click on the highlighted text to download the 2010 Grant Guidelines and Proposal Form. The deadline for submission is January 11, 2010. Awards will be announced at our annual celebration in the spring. This donation... not only supports student work but it also demonstrates support for one of our burgeoning fields at UMKC.” - Dr. Virginia Blanton, Assoc. Professor of English, UMKC. For 2009 the Friends received twenty-one proposals totaling over $26,000. The Selections Committee gives careful consideration to each proposal and may recommend no, full, or partial funding.
